Due to the DMV computer problem that began last week and was resolved on Wednesday, Sept. 1, FCYFL recognizes the challenge that will be faced to have DMV IDs available for players for this week's weigh ins. An alternative, temporary plan has been developed for alternative ID options for this week. Following are the acceptable ID forms for Sunday's weigh in at the Pennino Building, 12011 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035. The BRYC time slot is 9:30 a.m.
A copy of each “acceptable” document used to validate a players age and residency will remain in the procession of FCYFL. They will not keep any originals. The intention is to get through this problem with reasonable alternatives but not circumventing the process. Everyone involved will have to comply after the problem is solved and DMV is up and running.
-
We will accept expired DMV ID, Learners Permits, and Driver’s licenses.
-
We will accept DMV receipts where individuals have already been processed through DMV but didn’t receive the ID.
-
We will accept military ID’s. If the military ID doesn’t reflect the players current address, then FCYFL needs another document listed on the DMV website as acceptable validation, i.e. electric bill, property/real estate tax bill, telephone bill, etc.
-
We will accept Passports and expired Passports as long as the information is legible and is clearly understood,
-
We will accept copies of birth certificates along with PROOF of residency using a utility bill or other document listed on the DMV website under Document Requirements, Proof of Identity, and Primary Documents.
A list of players using alternative IDs will be provided to all club commissioners. Players will still need to obrtain current, valid DMV IDs prior to the season. I have asked coaches to get copies of the players' DMV IDs once they are obtained and forward to me so we can ensure all players are eligible for the 2010 season. Your support in helping this to work is greatly appreciated.

In efforts to help our BRYC families identify carpool arrangements to the various practice fields, we recommend using the Website tool that we have named "Carpool Locator" linked of the left menu on the home page. While the site is intended for a "Swap Shop Exchange" (like Craig's list), those looking for carpools can post an "ad" on the page indicating what field, what days, and provide a general description of where you live. It's that simple.
This will enable you to reach out beyond just your team to identify rides. Remember, many kids from your neighborhood will practice at the same field on many of the same days. In September, AB, 75, 85, 95, and cheer will move to Wakefield Park offering many more people who can help with carpools. But this forum may be the only way you can identify one another. The page will be what you all make of it. We hope this helps facilitate ride sharing to help make it easier on parents while ensuring all kids have a ride to practice and games.
