Equipment & Gear Guide

Everything your player needs for the season, what we provide, and what families should bring.

Equipment Distribution

We will hold two equipment distribution dates:

  • Saturday, July 18 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Saturday, August 1 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Public Storage (Behind the Kohl's and Chik-Fil-A)

Burke, VA 22015

Players will be fitted and issued equipment during these sessions.

What BRYC Provides

The following items are provided by the program:

Returned at End of Season:

  • Certified 5-Star Helmet (regularly reconditioned)
  • Guardian Cap (required for practices and games)
  • Shoulder Pads
  • Practice Jersey
  • Practice Pants (with pads)
  • Game Uniform (jersey and pants)

Yours to Keep:

  • Game Socks
  • Mouthguard

What Families Need to Provide

Cleats

  • Football cleats with plastic spikes
  • No color restrictions
  • Helps with traction and visibility on the field

Mouthguard

  • While BRYC will provide you wirth a mouthguard, you are welcome to provide your own, if you choose to do so it:
  • Must have a helmet attachment (required by referees)
  • Should be boil-and-bite fitted for proper protection

Water Bottle/Jug

  • Minimum 32–64 oz water
  • Needed for all practices and games
  • Water only (no sports drinks allowed on the field)

Integrated Girdle 

Optional Equipment

  • Gloves
  • Arm pads
  • Elbow pads

All equipment must be football-approved (no other sport gear allowed).

Safety Equipment

Guardian Caps

  • Thanks to an anonymous donation in 2025, BRYC is able to provide all players with a Guardian Cap
  • Required during practices and games
  • Help reduce impact during contact
